Songtao County, situated in the northeast of Tongren City in Guizhou Province, is located at the junction of Guizhou Province, Hunan Province and Chongqing. This place has been called “a place adjacent to Sichuan and located in Hunan, which actually served as eastern gateway to Guizhou” in ancient time, which is a renowned place where cockcrow can be heard in three provinces. Given its long history as well as simple and traditional folkways, this place is a crucial symbol of Chu culture. Moreover, this place inherits rich culture from Miao Minority, including famous folk stunt such as exorcising opera, climbing knife ladders and stepping into fire.
The planned plot is located in the northern area of Songtao County. According to the master planning, the plot serves as a place for urban business, tourism, finance and information and residence service with an overall planning area of 99.4 hectares, urban construction land of 98.27 hectares included. This site is based on old urban core which is the base for developing new area, expanding urban to the north. Industrial zone in northern part gives impetus to the development, but negative effects on residential area should be minimized, residential area in eastern part respond to base and form a belt together. Western part of this site set as green barrier, with good landscape environment, which provides suitable conditions for developing tourism and building liable residential area.
